October Fifa Ranking: Nigeria Improves to 41st from 44th, Still 5th in Africa

In the latest Federation of International Football ranking for men, the Super Eagles of Nigeria has moved 3 steps upward from their last month position of 44th in the world to 41st, coming behind Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina who are both ranked 39th and 40th respectively

However, the position of the team remained as it was last month September, coming ahead of the likes of Cameroon and Morocco. The number one spot in Africa however changed as Tunisia displaced the Pharaohs of Egypt who were ranked number one in the month of September, they are now the 2nd best team in Africa.

The top ten African teams in October ranking are as follows: Tunisia – 38, Egypt – 30, Senegal – 32, DR Congo – 35, Nigeria – 41, Cameroun – 42, Morroco – 48, Ghana – 52, Burkina Faso – 55, and Ivory Coast – 61.

Germany still remained the best ranked team in the world, followed by Brazil (2nd), Portugal (3rd), Argentina (4th), and Belgium (5th) respectively. In the history of FIFA men’s football ranking, Nigeria remained the best ranked African team so far, occupying the 5th position in 1994 with no other African team able to achieve this formidable feat.
