Notable media practitioner and award-winning filmmaker of international repute, Alex Eyengho, who is the APC candidate for the Warri Federal Constituency seat in the House of Representatives in the forthcoming February 16, 2019 general elections, has announced his longstanding friend and political ally, Mr. Austin Oribioye as the Director-General of the ‘Alex Eyengho 4 Reps Campaign Organization 2019’ (ALEXCO-2019).
Eyengho made the announcement on Thursday, November 8, 2018 after a press statement he issued in Warri, pointing out that his decision was the outcome of “very robust consultations with the party structure and leadership across the three Warri Local Government Areas that make up the Warri Federal Constituency, even as he described Mr. Oribioye as a perfect pick for the task ahead.”
Born on August 10, 1962
in Warri, Austin Oribioye holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Mass Communication from the Delta State University, Abraka.
He started politics as an Ex-Officio member in the defunct Social Democratic Party (SDP), from 1988-93, in Warri South L.G.A. He later became the Delta South Senatorial Vice-Chairman of the defunct Action Congress Of Nigeria (ACN), which was one of the three main Legacy Parties that collapsed into the All Progressives Congress (APC). He is currently an Ex-Officio member of the Delta State Executive body of APC. He is married with children.
Mr. Oribioye’s appointment takes immediate effect. Other key positions and full membership of the ALEXCO-2019 will be unveiled before long.
