The wife of the multiple award winning Juju musician, Sammie Peters has jokingly called her husband, Sir Shina Peters a lover of women. Speaking on air today (Tuesday) through phone call on a radio program, Minijojo in Lagos which was monitored by ONN from Port Harcourt, Sammie said “I know my husband loves women a lot, though he remains the best husband anyone can have”. Speaking further, the mother of Clinton said if she has to come to the world again, “I will still marry Ayomi (what she fondly calls her hubby) because he is very interesting and caring”
Minijojo, a popular radio program holds on Raypower and Faaji Fm every Tuesday and has dedicated today’s program to the sixtieth birthday of SSP. Born on the 30th of May 1958, Sir Shina Peters began his career five decades ago with Chief Commander Ebenezer Obey, an evangelist and one of the pioneers of Juju genre of music in Nigeria at the age of ten as a guitarist. He rose to become a success in his career after waddling through the muddy waters of life.
In 1990 he released an album titled “Ace”, it was a massive success as almost all the lyrics in the piece became Nigeria’s national Anthem. The album permeated the nooks and crannies of Africa’s most populous nation and even beyond. At a time, British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) on its radio programs could not do without playing “Ace”
The presenters of the radio program, Ambrose Somide and Bashir Adisa Babagboin had hectic time coping with phone calls from other artistes who were desperate to speak with the August visitor through call-in; among those who called on the program were Chief Commander Ebenezer Obey, Y.K Ajao, Dele Taiwo, Admiral Dele Abiodun, Wale Thompson, Dele Taiwo, Ras Kimono, Abel Dosumu (Mega 99) to mention but a few.
The publisher of ONN Magazine, Ladi Jolaosho had watched SSP performed live many times at Chapters Hotel , an entertainment joint at Abule-Egba area of Lagos State, especially when he was a reporter/writer with Mayor Akinpelu’s Global Excellence Magazine. ONN Magazine wishes SSP many happy returns of the day.
